The tapered end sets nails below the surface of decking and planking to facilitate planing without damage to the plane. The tapered end and crowned face make these excellent plane adjusting hammers. The heads are hand forged, best quality tool steel carefully hand finished and tempered for a lifetime of use. The handles are 14" Japanese white oak.
