Also called "Brazilian Teak"

Comes from Latin America(except Chile). 

Sapwood is yellowish gray to gray-brown.  Heartwood is light to dark olive brown. 

Pattern is closely interlocked grain;fine to medium textured.

Highly resistant to decay and insects, except marine borers.  It is usually used in heavy construction, heavy duty flooring, crossties, turnery, and as decorative veneers.
